We travelled through the snow yesterday to get to Walcott street. The wind was wishing ,the snow was falling and we were shivering. So the sight of Bath Makery welcomed us. A few minutes later we were sitting at a wooden table fabric baskets spread around. We started cutting out our hearts and hand stitching them together there was a lovely choice of fabric and we got straight to work. Thanks to the well experienced leader I managed to make 3 tree decorations.

It's Darling!
Posted by Picasa

The It's Darling fair was great. Some off the stalls were a little overpriced but all together it was a very original show. The tag above came from Scrapiana's stall she ordered her name tags bearing the unusual messages of I love you and Merry Christmas.

In the corner was
a original ,medium priced stall. My favourite of its many ideas was shoe clips .Bows which you can attach to you shoes (above)I fell for the cherry ones.(below)

There were some crazy dresses in
Maggie's Dress Vintage.(Left)along with some other outfits and scarfs. A very good fair and I would recommend it to anyone.

Shrinking Crisp Packets
  1. Clean out your packet .
  2. If you are making a badge then attach a safety pin in the back off it otherwise just make a large hole.
  3. Place it in the oven or grill(not the microwave it is messy)at medium heat.
  4. check on it every few minuets and try to stop it curling up.
The Christmas fair of It's Darling is in the Guild Hall 0n the 11th and 12th of December , if anyone wants to come. ' A shopping experience in the centre of Bath. Handmade treats, vintage treasures, craft workshops, tea and cakes - not to be missed! ' I'm going tomorrow and will take my camera if anyone want' s to see all the action from home. How To Make A Denim Skirt Out Of Jeans
Its is time to take your old jeans out the closet and use them no matter what condition they are in!!!
  1. 1.Get your old Jeans.
  2. Cut them at about the knees .(it depends how long you want your skirt)
  3. Unpick the jeans they are tough and you might have to go through lots of different seams But you will get there eventually.
  4. Pin the two seams together and if you are using to tight jeans you might want to add in extra piece(can be any fabric but I used Denim from the legs) so you can walk in them (see below) so you can walk in them.
  5. Then all you need to do is sew up where you have added the extra piece(at the front) and then do the same on the back.If you want it to fray then just leave the edge. But other wise fold the bottom under and sew it up for your hem.

Sock Monkey

How to Make Christmas Stocking Sock MonkeysAre you tired of being given socks for Christmas? They might be a great gift for Santa in the freezing north pole but on the whole they are a pretty thoughtless stocking filler. Well we have a fantastic idea to turn a boring old pair of socks into a cute, cheeky, little sock monkey.

All you will need is...
Sock Monkey InstructionsA pair of socks in any size, needle and thread, toy stuffing, 2 buttons or other things for eyes and a sewing machine is an advantage but not essential

Take the first sock, turn it inside out and lay it out flat heel up.

Mark out the centre of the sock up to 4 cm below the heel line. With a dewing machine, if you have one, stitch 1 cm away from the centre line and sew down towards the ribbed part of the sock. Sew down to the bottom edge, turn away from the centre line and sew across the ribbed section to form a foot. Stitch the other side of the centre line to match.

Now cut up the centre line to divide the legs.

Turn the sock the right way out through the hole at the monkey's crotch. Lightly stuff the monkey's body and legs and sew up the hole in the crotch with invisible stitches.

Printable Sock Monkey InstructionsLay the second sock out flat in a side profile position and cut out relevant parts as indicated in the diagram.

Tail
Fold in half and stitch up the long side, tapering the ribbed edge to a point. Turn, stuff, turn the ends in and attach to the monkey's bottom.

Mouth
Turn in edges and pin the oval shaped mouth to the main monkey just below the toe. Stitch invisibly in place leaving a small opening. Lightly stuff and close opening. Embroider on a mouth.

Arms
Fold in half and sew up the long edge and across the ribbed edge. Turn, stuff, turn the edges in and stitch in place on the monkey's body.

Sock MonkeysEars
Put two ear parts together with right sides facing. Sew around curved part of the ear and turn right sides out. Tuck the bottom edge up inside the ear and fold the ear in half. Tack half way along the bottom edge to form a fold in the ear and stitch in place at the side of the monkey's head.

Eyes
Stitch buttons on the front of the monkey's head above the mouth.

Pull the hat on to the monkey's head
and ENJOY
